Girls’ colleges: ‘Rs1.3b allocated for 200 new buses’
Official said the decision was taken in view of the difficulties girls faced in commuting to educational institutes.
FAISALABAD:
The provincial government has allocated Rs1.3 billion for the purchase of 200 new buses for girls’ colleges in the province, a spokesman of the Education Department said on Sunday. He said the project had been planned last year but could not be implemented due to lack of funds. This year, however, the government has already allocated funds and the project would soon be started across the province, he added. The official said the decision was taken in view of the difficulties girls faced in commuting to educational institutes. He said buses would first be provided to colleges where there was currently no transport facility available to the students.
