Elections: PPP will come to power again, predicts Zardari
PPP’s political struggle will continue but this will not hinder the election schedule: President.
KHAIRPUR:
We will hold free and fair elections on time and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will again come to power with a huge majority, said President Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday.
Addressing a gathering in Khairpur after four years, Zardari said the PPP’s political struggle will continue but this will not hinder the election schedule.
Stating that his party doesn’t want to come to power through rigged elections, the president said that “we have never accepted rigging of polls and will make sure this doesn’t happen under our governance.”
“Free and fair elections in Pakistan is my promise to you and I know PPP will do well this time as well,” he added.
While thanking the people of Khairpur for always standing by the PPP, he said that supporting his party means supporting Pakistan.
He assured the attendees that the democratic government is fully aware of the difficulties faced by the people of Pakistan.
Commenting on the political tussle between the PPP and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Zardari said that next time, the “chief minister of Punjab would be a PPP jiyala.”
