Suffering patients: Doctors continue to boycott OPDs

The protests are over the failure of law enforcers in recovering Dr Din Muhammad Baloch, who was abducted on July 22.

A complete boycott of the Outpatient Departments (OPDs) in private and state-run hospitals was observed by doctors on the second consecutive day on the call of Pakistan Medical Association’s (PMA) Balochistan chapter on Saturday. The protests are over the failure of law enforcers in recovering Dr Din Muhammad Baloch, who was abducted on July 22. OPDs of all the main hospitals of the provincial capital, including Helper’s Hospital, Bolan Medical College Teaching Hospital, Fatima Jinnah TB Sanatorium and Sandeman Hospital remained closed. Similarly, the headquarter hospitals of Kalat and Naushki also observed a complete boycott of the OPD.
