Necrophilia case: Show cause notice against officer

Riaz had confessed to defiling the corpses of 48 women in the Paposh Nagar graveyard during the last eight years.

KARACHI: The Anti-Terrorism Court-II issued a show cause notice against investigating officer Sajid Javed.

Javed is the officer tasked with the case of Mohammad Riaz, who was arrested last October in a necrophilia case. At the time, the North Nazimabad police station said that Riaz had confessed to defiling the corpses of 48 women in the Paposh Nagar graveyard during the last eight years.

The FIR naming Riaz (516/2011) was filed under sections of the Pakistan Penal Code that deal with trespassing on burial places, rape, kidnapping an ‘unnatural offences’, explained as “carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any man, woman or animal.”
