Prohibition: Enforced act for a period of one month

A ban has been enforced on the use of loudspeakers in mosques in Upper Dir, according to a press release on Thursday. The Upper Dir District Magistrate imposed the ban under section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The use of loudspeakers in mosques, save for the azaan and the khutba will be prohibited in the district. The order will be enforced for a period of one month from the date of issue, the release added. It said the violation of the order would be punishable under section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
