Six people, including a lawyer and his brother, were killed in Ludhar village of Lahore.

LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court chief justice on Friday summoned the CIA SP, Umar Virk, for not arresting the suspects nominated for six people’s murder.

The chief justice has taken notice of the incident in which six people, including a lawyer and his brother, were killed in Ludhar village of Lahore.

Earlier, DSP Muhammad Athar appeared before the court and submitted that a police sub-inspector, Shaukat Ali, had been arrested in the case. He said that two out of the seven suspects nominated in the FIR were also in police custody. The DSP said five people implicated in the supplementary statements had also been arrested but two remained at large. The FIR was registered with Burki police station.

Counsel for the complainant said that six people were killed and four injured in the incident. Five women had become widows and 20 children were orphaned as result of the killings.

He said that despite the lapse of five months the police had failed to arrest all the suspects.

Chief Justice Khawaja Muhammad Sharif ordered the CIA SP to appear in person on August 27. Advocate Muhammad Nasir of Ludhar was murdered on March 10, along with his brother and a cousin, reportedly over old enmity.

Three more people later succumbed to the injuries sustained during the incident.
