Woman stoning case: DPO Khanewal demoted to OSD
Culprits were being arrested and the husband of the deceased woman has been taken on board in the case.

The Punjab police chief has demoted District Police Office (DPO) Mohammed Waqar and made him Officer on Special Duty (OSD) for his negligence in the Khanewal woman stoning case. According to a Punjab police spokesperson, the inspector general of police told the Supreme Court that the culprits were being arrested and the husband of the deceased woman has been taken on board in the case. The IGP reviewed the report of the incident, which accused the DPO of negligence for not taking a timely action.
