Accident: 2 killed, one injured as truck overturns

Police said the cause of the accident was reckless driving.

HARIPUR: Two men were killed and another was critically injured when a truck they were travelling in overturned on Grand Trunk Road, near Panian, on Monday evening. Police said the cause of the accident was reckless driving. A police official told The Express Tribune that the Mansehra-bound truck (GLT 535) was loaded with sugar and was coming from Lahore when it overturned after crashing into a road safety near Panian. Two men, Abdul Basit Shah and Akhlaq Ahmed from Baidada locality of Manehra, who were sitting on the truck’s rooftop at the time of the accident died on the spot, whereas the driver, Bashir Ahmed, was injured. He was shifted to Ayub Medical Complex Abbottabad.
