Transport infrastructure: TEPA to get Rs23b for development

Works including traffic signals, a rapid bus transit system, khayaban-i-jinnah valencia town road, underpass

The Traffic Engineering and Transport Planning Agency (Tepa) in Lahore will have a budget of Rs22.95 billion ($240.46 million) for its city-wide projects for the fiscal year 2012-13. It is estimated that Rs21.92 billion ($229.67 million) will be spent on works including installation and maintenance of traffic signals, a rapid bus transit system, the first phase of the of khayaban-i-jinnah valencia town road and an underpass at a railway crossing on the Maulana Shaukat Ali road, according to the report published in World Highways. An overall budget for fiscal 2013 of Rs39 billion ($413.13 million) was approved by the governing body of Pakistan’s Lahore Development Authority for the development authorities and its civic agencies.
