Public health: Stolen medicines seized

Some of the containers bore stamps of the Lahore General Hospital and the District Government of Gujranwala.

LAHORE:
A Health Department team on Saturday seized medicines worth millions of rupees, stolen from public hospitals, from a truck stand in Gujranwala, Director General (Health) Dr Nisar Ahmed Cheema said on Saturday. He said some of the containers bore stamps of the Lahore General Hospital and the District Government of Gujranwala.  He said the raid was carried out by a team consisting of Director (Pharmacy) Ayyaz Ali Khan, Gujranwala District Officer (Health) Dr Mahjabeen and Area Drugs Inspector Ahmed Tariq.The director general said a committee had been formed to investigate the matter.
