Football: United draw with Cape Town

Substitute Bebe scored two minutes into stoppage time to salvage a 1-1 draw for Manchester United.

ROME:
Substitute Bebe scored two minutes into stoppage time to salvage a 1-1 draw for Manchester United at Ajax Cape Town yesterday in the second match of a pre-season world tour. The Portuguese tapped a low cross into the net after Ajax snatched the lead four minutes from time at a chilly Cape Town Stadium through a looping Alcardo van Graan back-heel from a corner. In another friendly, Bayern Munich fell 3-2 to Napoli in the final match of the Bavarians’ pre-season training camp. Bayern’s David Alaba scored first in the 17th minute, with Paolo Cannavaro equalising shortly before half-time. Xherdan Shaqiri equalised for Bayern after Macedonian striker Goran Pandev put Napoli 2-1 up, only for 21-year-old forward Lorenzo Insigne to claim victory for the Italians with seven minutes remaining.
