Ramazan moon sighted, first fast on July 21

The announcement was made by Chairman of the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, Mufti Munib ur Rehman.

KARACHI:
The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee announced on Friday that the moon of the holy month of Ramazan has been sighted in the country.

The announcement was made by Chairman of the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, Mufti Munib ur Rehman, after chairing the meeting of the committee held at Meteorological (Met) Office.


He announced that Ramazan 1, 1433 Hijri, will fall on July 21, 2012.

The month of Ramazan began in Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen on July 20, as well as for Lebanon’s Sunni Muslims.
