KARACHI:

Traffic remained suspended at the National Highway for at least one hour as residents of Abdullah Goth in Bin Qasim Town staged a demonstration in protest against the Anti-Encroachment Cell (AEC) on Wednesday.

The residents started the protest after an AEC team reached Abdullah Goth to demolish encroachments in the area.

However, a heavy contingent of police reached the spot and dispersed the protestors after negotiating with them.

Shah Latif SHO Malik Saleem said that the residents wanted to stop the AEC from removing their homes, and also wanted to lodge a case against AEC officials over Bibi’s death.

irony is that many persons did violate the law by encroaching the road/land which causes the slowing of traffic flow. Same persons will blame the govt. administration for insensitivity and corruption. First an introspection is needed. We change our ethics per our convenience. We are hypocrites.
