The high court would resort to counseling and capacity building before taking any adverse action.

LAHORE:

The Lahore High Court administration committee (AC) on Thursday imposed the penalty of compulsory retirement on Senior Civil Judge (SCJ) Rana Muhammad Khan.

Final show-cause notices were issued to District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Masroor Khan and Rajanpur Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADSJ) Ahsan Mahboobd Bukhari. According to a press release, the AC met on Thursday headed by Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial.

The committee dropped disciplinary proceedings against Taunsa Sharif ADSJ Muhammad Aslam, Sheikhupura SCJ Gulzar Ahmad Khalid, Layyah Civil Judge Jawwad Alam Qureshi and Sambrial Civil Judge Khalid Yaqoob Warraich.

The AC censured Lahore ADSJ Zubair Shahzad Kiyani and withheld the promotion for one year of Jampur ADSJ Sadaqatullah Khan. The committee further decided that where perverse judgments were delivered by judicial officers, the high court would resort to counseling and capacity building before taking any adverse action.
