Rajesh Khanna passed away at his Bandra residence after a prolonged illness.

Bollywood's first superstar Rajesh Khanna passed away Wednesday at his Bandra residence after a prolonged illness, a family friend said. He was 69.
"He is no more," a family friend told IANS.
He was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital July 14 following "weakness", and was discharged Monday. His family - estranged wife Dimple Kapadia, daughters Twinkle and Rinke were reported to be by his side.
His actor son-in-law Akshay Kumar, Twinkle's husband, had also rushed back from shooting abroad.
Last month, Khanna was admitted to the hospital and spent two weeks there before he was discharged.
The actor had been battling health issues since April 1, when he was admitted due to weakness and fatigue.
Fondly known as Kaka, Khanna, who featured in hits like Aaradhana and Amar Prem in the 1970s, was out of the limelight for many years.
The actor began his career with Aakhri Khat in 1966. He became a popular name with his work in films like Raaz, Do Raaste and Aradhana and was crowned “superstar” after he delivered 15 consecutive solo super hits.
He had married Dimple Kapadia in 1973. They separated in 1984.
