Law and order: 3 ‘robbers’ caught in 2 incidents
Two of them severely injured, one shot in Kamalia and other beaten up by a crowd in Madina Town.

Three robbery suspects were arrested in two incidents on Tuesday, one of them shot and injured by guards at a petrol station.
The injured man arrested by Kamalia police was taken to the tehsil headquarters (THQ) hospital where doctors described his condition as critical and referred him to Toba Tek Singh district headquarters (DHQ) hospital.
Doctors at the DHQ hospital later said he was now out of danger but had lost a lot of blood from the bullet wound in his abdomen. They said they would operate on him on Wednesday.
Kamalia police said he and his two accomplices had earlier intercepted a van near Pir Shah Chowk and tried to rob the petrol station workers of the cash they were carrying to a bank. They said the guards riding the van had opened fire at the assailants, injuring one of them.
He was taken into custody by a police team headed by the Kamalia deputy superintendent of police and the Kamalia City police station house officer. The two other suspects fled the scene.
Another police team, headed by Inspector Ghulam Rasool, later carried out a search operation in the area but failed to track down the suspects.
Two caught in Madina Town
In the other incident, two suspects were caught by a crowd in Madina Town, severely beaten up and handed over to the police.
A third man who had been with them managed to escape.
Doctors treating the suspects at Allied Hospital described the condition of one of them as critical. Dr Muhammad Aslam identified him as Ashfaq and said that he had suffered around 30 bruises.
The three men were caught and beaten up by a mob drawn to the scene in near Naimat Colony No2 by one Rana Imtiaz. The suspects had allegedly tried to rob Imtiaz of his brand-new motorcycle.
Two of the suspects were later rescued by a Madina Town police team.
