13 die in 2 accidents on Indus Highway
61 others returning from Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s urs in Sehwan Sharif injured.

Thirteen people died in two accidents on Indus Highway in Rajanpur on Saturday.
As many as 61 others suffered injuries in a collision between a bus and a truck in Jampur and when a van overturned in Rojhan.
The bus and the van were carrying pilgrims returning to their home towns in the Punjab after attending Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s urs in Sehwan Sharif.
The truck driver was among those who died in the Jampur accident. In Jampur, six passengers died on the spot and three passed away while Rescue 1122 officials were taking them to the tehsil headquarters (THQ) hospital.
Two of the 11 passengers with serious injuries, taken to Dera Ghazi Khan district headquarters (DHQ) hospital and Nishter Hospital in Multan, later died. Doctors treating others said the next 24 hours were important for the injured.
As many as 28 passengers with minor injuries are under treatment at Jampur THQ hospital and Rajanpur DHQ hospital. They told The Express Tribune most of the deceased were sitting on the roof of the bus when it collided with the truck. Police said the bus had a broken axle broke and had collided with the truck.
The bus was headed towards Sakhi Sarwar where it had to drop 20 of the passengers.
The rest were to be taken to Hafizabad. Bus driver was among the dead.
In Rojhan, a van headed towards Dera Ghazi Khan overturned, killing two people. One died on the spot and the other at the Shaikh Zayed Hospital in Rahim Yar Khan. Two others taken to Shaikh Zayed Hospital where stated by doctors treating them to be in a critical condition.
Rest of the injured were taken to Rojhan tehsil headquarters (THQ) hospital and Dera Ghazi Khan DHQ hospital. Witnesses said the speeding van overturned while it was trying to overtake a truck.
The van was carrying people to Taunsa, Muzaffargarh and Dera Ghazi Khan.
Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s urs has been underway in Sehwan Sharif since July 6 (Sha’aban 15).
