Sylvester’s son dies of overdose
Son’s death leaves the actor devastated.
Actor Sylvester Stallone’s 36-year-old son Sage died of a drug overdose at his home on Friday, TMZ reported. While the details surrounding his death are still unclear, some reports suggest that he was found in his Los Angeles home by either a maid or his girlfriend. Paramedics were called to the site when the incident was reported, but pronounced him dead at the scene.
Authorities are trying to determine whether the death was intentional or accidental in nature. TMZ reports, “We’re told Sylvester is a wreck.” Within the next few hours, law enforcement sources said, “Sage’s death does not appear to be a suicide. We’re told there was no suicide note found at the scene.”
Sources also said they discovered numerous empty pill bottles in the area where Sage’s body was discovered, but did not reveal what type of medication it was. An autopsy has been scheduled in the next 48 hours, which will reveal the exact cause of death.
Stallone’s representative, Michelle Bega, said, “Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son, Sage Stallone. His compassion and thoughts are with Sage’s mother, Sasha. She said that his son was a very talented and wonderful young man. His loss will be felt forever.”
Sage was an actor, director, and producer. He famously made his film debut alongside his father in the 1990 movie Rocky 5 playing the role of Rocky’s son, Robert Balboa. He went on to act and direct in several films including the 1996 film Daylight.
