Creating unrest: 9students booked at LUMHS
Four of the students booked were also arrested by the police.
HYDERABAD:
At least nine students have been booked for creating unrest at the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro. The police also arrested four of them.
A group of students had closed the university's main gate, barring students and teachers from entering or exiting the campus.
University spokesperson Dr Saroop Bhatia said that the protesting students wanted to travel with another group of students who were due to tour Karachi.
"They just returned from the Pakistan tour and we wanted the other students to avail this chance," he explained. Dr Bhatia said that the administration had assured the students that a separate trip would be organised for them after Ramadan.
"They did not relent and instead demanded monetary compensation and a favour in semester exams," he claimed.
Later, police was called to deal with the rowdy situation. Instead of backing off, some students quarreled with the policemen.
