Inzi becomes Lahore region’s selector
Former captain to scout for youth teams.

Former Pakistan captain Inzamamul Haq has agreed to work as a Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) selector and confirmed that his main aim will be to look for new faces.
“I agreed to do this after a request from the LCCA,” Inzamam told The Express Tribune. “It’s good to be back in a cricket role. I will be picking youngsters for local tournaments.”
The former batsman, however, refused to comment on whether he would like to work with the national team for which the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is seeking a batting coach. “Right now, I am just looking forward to the new role. I am not thinking beyond that.” Inzamam has been away from cricket since his retirement from cricket in 2007. He scored 8,830 runs in 120 Tests and 11,739 in 378 One-Day Internationals.
‘LCCA to benefit from Inzamam’
Meanwhile, the LCCA President Khawaja Nadeem Ahmad said that the move to bring Inzamam in will yield good results.
“He is very experienced,” said Nadeem. “We are thankful to him that he has agreed to work as the Lahore selector. We are hoping for good results following the decision.”
The LCCA chief added Inzamam will head the selection committee that also comprises a couple of LCCA coaches.
“Initially, Inzamam will be doing selection of all regional tournaments,” he said before adding that the former captain has already started his job. “Inzamam is undergoing sessions with our youngsters to select the U-19 cricketers.”
