Lahore terror attack: Senate session aborted

ANP’s Zahid Khan terms incident ‘Punjab’s well planned conspiracy against Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’.

ISLAMABAD:

Thursday’s Senate proceedings were aborted after members from both sides of the aisle walked out to protest the terrorist attack in Lahore, which claimed the lives of nine policemen.

ANP’s Zahid Khan termed the incident ‘Punjab’s well planned conspiracy against Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’.

“The poor arrangements and absence of security at the hostel shows how careless the Punjab government was,” Khan said while asking the K-P government to withdraw all police trainees enrolled in courses in Punjab immediately. He also demanded that the Punjab government sack the Prisons Inspector General.

Khan announced a boycott of the entire session on ANP’s behalf until action is taken against the culprits responsible for the incident. The party members walked out of the House, marking their protest against the Punjab government. JUI-F boycotted the proceedings as well, while PML-Q staged a walkout against what they said was the Punjab government’s incompetence.
