Balochistan unrest: Imambargah leader among two slaughtered near Quetta
Perpetrators belonged to militant group Lashkar-e-Jhangvi.
QUETTA:
Two bodies, including that of a Shia imambargah leader, have been recovered from the Mian Gundi area near Quetta on Wednesday.
According to reports, the police were informed that some bodies were lying in a mountainous area nearby. A police party rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area upon finding them.
The bodies were then shifted to the Bolan Medical Teaching Hospital for autopsy.
“They were slaughtered and beheaded in a brutal manner,” hospital sources said, adding that the age of each murdered man was between 28 and 30 years.
A note was left amongst the bodies which showed their identity. They were identified as the leader of the Satellite Town Imambargah Maulana Nour Ali Nour and resident of Sirki Road Syed Haseeb Abad Zaidi.
The note revealed that the crime’s perpetrators belonged to the militant group Lashker-e-Jhangvi, and that the victims were from a rival militant group, Lashker-e-Mehdi.
Relatives of Haseeb told the media that he was kidnapped from Satellite Town some 19 days prior to his murder. The kidnappers demanded ransom worth Rs1.9 million, which was then renegotiated to Rs1.5 million.
