Short circuit: Man burnt to death

Police and rescuers said the fire was caused by short circuit.

RAWALPINDI: A paralysed man was burnt to death in his room on Astabal Road near Raja Bazaar on Wednesday. Faqir Hussain, 50, who was living in a rented room in Shafi Riaz Building, died of burn injuries after a fire broke out. The police and rescuers said the fire was caused by short circuit. According to the police, Hussain lived with his brother Javed who was a watchman in the market. The police said some labourers residing in an adjacent room, shouted that a fire had erupted in Hussain’s room at 6am. Even though Javed rushed to the room to rescue his brother, he could not save him. Hussain had sustained 100 per cent burn injuries and died on the spot. He belonged to Hazro.
