Football: ‘No contact over Russia job’
Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp insists he has had no contact over the vacant Russia manager’s job.
LONDON:
Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp insists he has had no contact over the vacant Russia manager’s job after being named on the Russian Football Union’s (RFU) list of potential candidates. Redknapp is one of a host of top managers targeted by Russia, with Pep Guardiola, Fabio Capello and Rafael Benitez also on their wish list. Redknapp is adamant he has not held any talks with the Russians at this stage, but he admits it is an attractive job. “I haven’t been contacted but I’m sure it’s a fantastic job for someone,” said Redknapp. The Russian post became available when Dick Advocaat announced prior to Euro 2012 that he would be leaving after the tournament to manage PSV Eindhoven.
