Cricket: Lasers win both matches

Batting first, the Lasers managed to score 89 for five off their quota of overs.

KARACHI: Sumayya Siddique starred for the Lasers who beat the Strikers in the Women’s Cricket Triangular T20 Tournament 2012 at the Southend Club in Karachi yesterday. Batting first, the Lasers managed to score 89 for five off their quota of overs. Marrium Hasan  was the top-scorer for Lasers with 36. In reply, the Strikers could only manage 53 for eight as Sumayya took three wickets while giving away just five runs. In the second match of the day, the Lasers were victorious once again, defeating the Nights this time. Nights set the Lasers a target of 85 which the Lasers reached in 18 overs for the loss of eight wickets. Qanita Jalil was the stand out performer scoring 29 runs for Lasers.
