KARACHI:

A delegation of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) visited the protest camp set up by the University of Sindh (SU) PST Test Pass Action Committee on Tuesday to express solidarity with them.

The protesters, who are on hunger strike, have set up their camp outside Karachi Press Club. According to a statement issued by the MQM, the SU committee briefed the MQM delegation about their demands.

They also asked for the MQM’s support in securing the release of 14 of their peers who have been arrested by the police. Adviser to the Sindh chief minister, Khwaja Izharul Hassan, and MQM Sindh Tanzeemi Committee member Aftab Soomro listened to their concerns and assured them that they would make all efforts to get the protesters’ legitimate demands accepted.
