Police team took away a television set and a refrigerator from her house.

GUJRANWALA:

A woman has accused a police team of robbery at her house on Sunday night.

Nazeeran Bibi, a resident of Rahwali, told The Express Tribune the police team took away a television set and a refrigerator from her house. She said there were 14 policemen in the team. She said they also threatened her with dire consequences if she did not assist them in arresting her son, who the police claim was wanted for a robbery.

Nazeeran Bibi said Sunday’s raid was the second in four days. She said she had not seen her son for several months. “He’s a drug addict. He visits me only once in a while,” she said.

Aroop Station House Officer Imran Abbas Chaddar said a police team from Luhyawali picket had raided a house in search of a robber on Sunday night. However, he said, he was unaware of any robbery by the police. The SHO said he would take appropriate action against the officials involved once a complaint was received for the purpose.
