Degree college: Construction on pace, says Channar

Prisons Minister said that its girls’ hostel will house 70 students and the boys’ hostel 100 students.

BAHAWALPUR: Prisons Minister Muhammad Iqbal Channar said on Saturday visited the under construction Degree College of Special Education at Jhangiwala. He said that the college was being built at a cost of Rs150 million. He said that its girls’ hostel will house 70 students and the boys’ hostel 100 students. At a briefing he received, project engineers said that a 100KVA generator had been purchased for the college to provide electricity during outages. They also said that a 1,000 gallon water storage had been planned. Channar said that Rs4 billion had been allocated in the budget to provide missing facilities to middle and primary schools. He said that Rs520 million had been sanctioned to upgrade middle schools to high schools and Rs200 million sanctioned to set up science laboratories in schools.
