Food delivery portal: All delights a few clicks away
A new ‘middleman’ that connects clients to eateries in the capital۔
ISLAMABAD:
Gone are the days when you had to drive out to get that favourite dish you were craving for.
The distance of a few kilometres has turned into a few simple clicks, where you order food online and voila, it gets delivered at your doorstep. Think tech-savvy food options. Simply log on to justeatislamabad.com or call the customer services number to place an order.
Brainchild of two young entrepreneurs Abdullah Yunas and Malik Waqas, Just Eat Islamabad serves to deliver a wide range of cuisines free of any extra charge. Instead of being restricted to just one eatery, clients can choose and order from a list of 36 places including Mango Tree, Melange, Khiva, Wang Fu, Funky Bake, Tiramisu, Table Talk and Hotspot.
So how is it any different from other home delivery services?
“Firstly, you can order different things from different places and have them directly delivered to you. Some eateries are selective about where they deliver and that’s where we come in,” said Yunas.
The duo explained that in its initial phases, the idea confused some of the clients. “People thought they were directly calling the restaurant so we had to explain the process to them,” said Yunas. He added that the portal saves time and effort besides offering a wide array of eateries to pick from.
Though only five months old, the service seems to have picked up pace. “I usually order from them when there is a large order involving a mix of cuisines and flavours. It definitely saves the hassle of driving to the different places myself,” said Fariha, a food enthusiast from the capital.
In a time when people are looking for quick-fixes and instant gratification, the food portal aims to provide just that. With an active Facebook page, they have extended access across all age groups and locations. Moreover, for delivering to the outskirts like Chak Shehzad and Bani Gala, the service comes at a nominal cost.
