Education is key to progress: Basit

Basit expressed confidence that these bright students would excel in their respective fields.

ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Germany, Abdul Basit, said on Thursday that for a country to progress three things were of seminal importance and those were education, education and education.

He made these remarks at a reception which he hosted in honour of a visiting 45-member delegation of students from Pakistan. The delegation was led by Prof. Dr Khaleeq-ur-Rahman, Vice Chancellor, Government College University Lahore, said a statement from Berlin.


The Ambassador said that in order for education to be a catalyst, it had to be embedded in the cultural ethos of a society and simultaneously catering to contemporary requirements. He said the delegation, which comprised of top position holders across the country, was the pride of Pakistan.

Basit expressed confidence that these bright students would excel in their respective fields, and serve Pakistan with commitment and dedication.
