RAWALPINDI:

Despite the passage of over one week, the police have been unable to locate a man abducted over a property dispute.

According to the Saddar Beiruni police, Iftikhar Afzal, an accountant of a private housing society, was abducted from National Housing Scheme on Adiala Road as he left his house for work on June 28.

According to his brother Shehzad Afzal’s complaint, six men – two riding a motorbike and four in a Suzuki Mehran – intercepted Iftikhar and fled after forcibly pushing him into the vehicle.

The complainant said his brother had filed two cases against Tahir alias Tahiri for illegally occupying his house on Chakri Road and he suspected Tahir is behind the abduction.

The investigating officer, when approached for comments, said the police have retrieved Iftikhar’s cell phone records and are conducting raids in various areas to trace the suspects.

He added that the victim’s family has not received any call for ransom so far.
