KARACHI:

The Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi will organise a rally to protest against the reopening of Nato supply routes today.

The decision was made in accordance with the Difa-e-Pakistan, which announced a schedule of demonstrations on Thursday.

After the Friday congregational prayers, the rally will set out from Jama Masjid Binori Town and go towards Mazaar-e-Quaid, where Jamaat-e-Islami  Karachi chief Mohammad Hussain Mehanti and other leaders will address the rally.

“The United States carrying out a massacre of the innocent Afghan Muslims, while the government of Pakistan is providing reinforcement to the tyrant forces,” said Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi general secretary, Naseem Siddiqui.

He added that the Jamaat-e-Islami had already warned the government to not restore the Nato supply routes.

“The government, however, has put the country’s prestige and sovereignty at stake,” he said.
