Moda in Pelle lets your feet be trendy for less

Internationally recognised brand for shoes, handbags and accessories opens first store in South Asia.

LAHORE:

After bringing British high street brand Quiz Clothing to Lahore, its owners launched their latest venture, Moda in Pelle, at the Vogue Towers. The internationally recognised brand for shoes, handbags and accessories offers a variety of products designed to attract young female consumers.

This new venture fills in a niche market for affordable shoes in the city. Prior to its arrival, there was a dearth of brands catering to shoppers who did not wish to splurge on shoes and options were limited to Ehsan Chappal Store, Be Smart and Men’s Store. Although some of Moda in Pelle’s designs are copies of leading designer labels such as Rene Caviolle, Versace, YSL, Christian Dior, Christian Louboutin and even Tods, the brand remains trendy and vouches for its quality.

“Not everyone can afford a shoe costing between Rs 50,000 to Rs100,000,” says Asad Sheikh, the owner of Quiz Clothing and now Mode in Pelle. “It is important to fill in the gap for people who want to stay on trend and yet not kill their budget.”

Among the latest trends spotted at the store are casual, colour-blocked heels that can be paired with a daytime outfit or add a little spice to a basic little black dress in the evenings. Also available are en vogue cut-worked wooden heels which can be worn at casual day events or evening parties. The Rene Cavillo and Sam Edelman imitations at the store can work well if paired with formal attire to add some bling at weddings.

“The idea is to bring the latest fashion trends to Pakistan, but at an affordable cost. Our main focus is quality and comfort and to provide high quality luxury products at a lower cost than these major brands which are far more expensive, such as Dior and YSL,” said Sheikh during a press conference announcing the launch of the store.

While the brand is expanding in the international market, this is their first store in South Asia.

Its arrival heralds the growth of Pakistan’s urban market, which is moving in sync with international trends by opening stores that have not yet made headway across the border.
