Tennis: Nadal out of action for two weeks

Take two weeks off because of tendinitis in his knee.

PARIS:
Rafael Nadal, knocked out of Wimbledon in the second round, will take two weeks off because of tendinitis in his knee. The Spaniard will miss a charity match against Novak Djokovic in Madrid in July but hopes, however, to have fully recovered in time for the Olympics. “I want to apologise to all, in particular to the fans who had already purchased tickets, but unfortunately we won’t be able to play the match in Madrid,” said Nadal. “The doctors have been checking my knee and I suffer a tendinitis which will have me away from the court for 15 days, making it impossible to play with Novak as planned. The goal now is to represent Spain in London.”
