Acid attacks: Two women burned in two incidents

Two women suffered burns in two acid attack incidents in the city on Tuesday.


In Ghulam Muhammad Abad area, an 18-year-old girl was burned with acid at her house in Hoshiyarpur allegedly by two neighbours.

The girl was taken to Allied Hospital where doctors treating her described her condition as out of danger. But, they said, she had suffered burns on her arms, chest and legs.

In another incident, a woman was burned with acid allegedly by her son-in-law at her house in Chak No411-GB. The FIR registered with Tandlianwala police stated that the suspect threw acid on the woman after over a quarrel. She was also taken to Allied Hospital. Doctors treating her said she had suffered wounds on her face and chest.Police have yet to track down suspects in both cases. *Names of the victims have not been used to protect their identity.
