Lussun Fest: Aren't you sick of ‘Verse-Chorus, Verse-Chorus’?
“There has to be an alternative to mainstream music in Pakistan.”

The lights were dimmer, the quality of sound was better and the crowd was larger than before. This was the Lussun Fest Day 2 at The Second Floor (T2F).
“There has to be an alternative to mainstream music in Pakistan,” explained Babar Sheikh, member of Chand Tara Orchestra who performed at the concert.
“Most of these bands here are trying to break away from the mold of four minute song duration. We don’t want to follow the simple rule of ‘Verse-Chorus, Verse-Chorus’. It’s a little off-beat and obscure but something different for the music scene in Pakistan”.
The music was much more raw and experimental this time around.
Great performances from Lower Sindh Swing Orchestra, Mole, Basheer and the Piped Pipers and Chand Tara Orchestra really brought the place alive. Many set pieces featured unconventional forms of music, with genres ranging from post rock to ambient.
Chand Tara Orchestra performed a flawless 20+ minute instrumental piece to end the concert on a high note and with it, affirmed hope and recognition for the underground musicians of Pakistan.
