Tuberculosis burden: Pakistan ranks 6th globally

According to World Health Organisation (WHO) data, Pakistan ranks sixth globally among 22 high tuberculosis burden countries with an incidence rate of 181 per 100,000 people.
In an effort to combat the menace of tuberculosis, 982 microscopy centres have been established across the country to provide free of charge diagnostic facility to patients.
The establishment of microscopy centres is a large effort towards eliminating TB in the country.
