Call of duty: Prof. Tariq Rafi to head SMU

His aim as the first pro-vice chancellor of the medical university is to make it a reputed educational institution.

KARACHI: Professor Tariq Rafi has assumed charge as the pro-vice chancellor of the recently established Sindh Medical University (SMU). The pro-vice chancellor of Dow University of Health Sciences, Dr Umer Farooq, was serving as the temporary head of the new university. According to Prof. Rafi, his aim as the first pro-vice chancellor of the medical university is to make it a reputed educational institution and affiliate it with as many other recognised institutes as possible.
