FAISALABAD:
More than 825,000 litres of water is being supplied to the city by the district administration in addition to the water supplied by the Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa), District Coordination Officer Naseem Sadiq said on Sunday.
He was visiting a new Model Bazaar on Jhang Road.
He said 26 filtration plants installed at a cost of Rs200 million had also started functioning. Of these, four were installed using donations by philanthropists. The DCO later visited the filtration plant installed at the Model Bazaar and expressed satisfaction with its performance.
He said about 2,000 litres water was available at each filtration plant a day. He added that a committee had been formed to monitor the plants’ performance and to ensure timely repairs if needed for up to three years.
He said all arrangements to deal with the monsoon rains had been put in place.
