Golf: Shabbir lifts CNS Open title

The Islamabad player fired a four-under-par 68 on the final day to secure an accumulated score of 13-under-par 275.

Pakistan’s ace golfer Shabbir Iqbal lifted the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Open Golf Championship title for the eighth time with an overall lead of 12 shots at the Karachi Golf Club yesterday.



The Islamabad player fired a four-under-par 68 on the final day to secure an accumulated score of 13-under-par 275, stretching over four rounds to win the title.

Mohammad Munir and Nadseem Inayat finished joint second with a card of 287. Both golfers played the final round with a similar score of 73 to achieve second position.

Meanwhile, Ali Hai claimed the amateur title followed by young golfer Mubariz Ahmed who finished second in the contest.
