Book launch: Bringing science and religion together

‘Allah, Mawra ka Taayun’ launched in English.

ISLAMABAD:

With a focus on divine laws, Uxi Mufti’s book, “Allah, Mawra ka Taayun” is a study of similarities and differences between scientific and religious ideologies.

The book, launched earlier in Urdu, has now been published in English under the aegis of Mumtaz Mufti Literary Trust. A ceremony in this regard was held at Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) on Friday.

Speakers, comprising academics, intellectuals and literary figures, praised the author’s ability to explain the evolution of science and philosophy besides capturing the similarities in different religions with respect to worship and spirituality.

PAL Chairman Abdul Hamid appreciated the writer’s bold stance on the subject, saying that the book underlines human being’s ultimate goal - happiness - which can only be achieved by following the footsteps of the Holy Prophet (pbuh).

“Writing on such a subject is an uphill task and requires a lot of courage in today’s era, where materialism has diverted people away from religion,” said writer Masood Mufti, who lauded the author for his extensive research.

“The writer’s attempt to expose the reality of this universe is inspiring to say the least. It is a difficult book, and so is the author,” said poet Agha Nasir, adding that a capable writer always takes on a difficult job and accomplishes it without hesitation.
