India presses Pakistan on Mumbai attacks suspect
Sayed Zabiuddin, an Indian-born member of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, was detained at Delhi international airport on June 21 when he arrived from the Middle East.
Zabiuddin "had found a very safe haven in Pakistan," Chidambaram told reporters.
"Pakistan should admit that (he) did go to Pakistan, that he was part of the group which prepared Kasab and nine others, that (he) was in the control room among one of the handlers and masterminds of the attack.
"Just as we admit facts, Pakistan should also admit facts," the minister said.
Indian police say Zabiuddin, who also goes under the names Abu Hamza and Abu Jundal, has confessed to being a key handler for the 10 militants who attacked India's financial capital in 2008, killing 166 people.
According to police, he admitted being present in the "control room" in Karachi from where the attack was monitored and coordinated.
Pakistan has asked India to share information on Zabiuddin and urged New Delhi to refrain from blaming Islamabad.
"India should supply details... enabling us to take action," Pakistan's advisor on interior affairs, Rehman Malik, said Wednesday.
"Let us end the blame game... We have to fight terrorism together," Malik added.
Pakistan has indicted seven people for their alleged role in the Mumbai attacks but their trial, which began in 2009, has been beset by delays.
The United States has offered a $10 million reward for information leading to the conviction of Lashkar founder Hafiz Saeed who lives openly in Pakistan and is accused of masterminding the attacks.
Ajmal Kasab, the lone surviving gunman from the attack, is currently on death row in a Mumbai prison.

I am sure you will whine, moan and rant day in an day out if the the Indians train and send armed terrorists to Lahore, karachi, Islamabad etc, to bomb trains, attack temples, butcher people with AK47's in the cities, hit busy bazaars etc. with the goal of massacring innocent people.
@S.Ibraheem: How about showing a single piece on media and not just talking about it ??? Is common man in Pakistan smart enough to know which one is Indian radio set and which one is Pakistanis ? Just putting a label "Made in India" does not make it an Indian origin. China has been selling prescription drugs in Africa with "Made in India" label for years, something which WTO itself exposed. You guys have to come way far beyond this petty conspiracy theories.

Far bigger issue is supporting Kashmiri militants and what India can do to extract the damage over the last decade.If the same logic you mentioned is applied, what should India do to get even. Before you are sweeping in front of our door first start with your own door. Just take a look what your army are doing in Kashmir and what they have don. Amusing to see the Pakistanis jump on the 'own admission' angle - surely you aren't that naive to understand there could be many possible reasons for Surjeet making such a statement? Examples - Threat of Sarabjeet and other detained Indians in Pak jails being tortured if he doesn't say so when he lands in India (having suffered himself, I'm sure he would want to do what he can to make it a little better for them) strongly comes to mind amongst other things. Of course no matter what goes wrong in Pakistan, India will always 'have a hand' in it - dig deeper and you'll all probably find Mossad and CIA too? Deluded, hypocritical and totally unreasonable is what you all are - when was that a good combination? Dig your heads out - when these terrorists you support for their murders of innocents in India turn on you, you'll probably scream from the rooftops about "where was our government when the whole world was telling them this?"

Recongnize that the world has moved far away from that UN resolution taken 50 years ago. Nobody really cares for it now. @Yash: The proof ? The innumerable radio sets ,LMG's ,munitions and gear of indian origin recovered during Rahe-Raast against the TTP and similarly from BLA during the last 3 years. Brahhmdagh Bugti himself accepted the fact year when he said ,"We take help from the indians and ,well take help from israel and even from satan if we have to ,for liberation" This was widely quoted in the Pakistani media. But blaming Pakistan for terrorism would not be exacrly fair .This is how modern conflicts are fought ,covertly ,under the table. If Pakistan supported LeT ,KCF and the Kashmiri Mujahideen ,india is no saint either, they being responsible for everything from TTP to BLA and there is evidence that supports these claims. Surjeet Singh released yesterday accepted the fact he was spying for RAW. The Indian Home minister said "Taking a dig at Interior Minister of Pakistan Rehman Malik's recent statement Jundal was an Indian, he said, "I agree with Rehman Malik that Abu Jundal is an Indian perhaps he was radicalised in India. I admit that.

Home Secretary R K Singh added that Pakistan should also admit that they have given a passport to Abu Jundal, that they gave two identity cards to Abu Jundal and that they should also admit the fact that they claimed that he was a Pakistani.
So the most damning fact is that Pakistan tried to block his extradition to India, by claiming he was a Pakistani citizen, based on the passport Pakistan has provided him. India had to provide blood samples of his relatives to the country that extradited him, to establish by DNA matching that he indeed was Indian.

This is all an attempt by India to secure votes and diverge attention away from the situation in occupied Kashmir, nothing more. Nobody is taking India seriously, especially after that Lahore Traders fiasco where pictures were stolen off of Facebook and claimed that 3 terrorists had crossed into India - they ended up being traders in Lahore.
India has lost all it's credibility - it's just attempting to diverge attention away from Kashmir that's all.

HE was a spy in 1980. HE was arrested and completed a 30 years life imprisonment sentence and was released - not on clemency but dyue to completion of his sentence. Of course India and Pakistan would have spies in each other's countries. All countries have that. But India does not use that for creating terror in Pakistan - that's the difference.
@nikarish: OK so now we need to classify what spying was "good" and what was "bad"? The point is, nothing is proved for Pakistan's involvement in Mumbai tragedy. India is just working on "Keep lying so much that it may seem a truth". This is not how it works. Present evidence, take them to the International Court for Justice and prove Pakistan's involvement. Mere media bashing does not make someone guilty of any crime.
As for Surjeet, he ACCEPTED that he was sent by Indian Government Agency (RAW) to spy in Pakistan and he said that in India. Pakistan did not force him to issue this statement. Stop complaining if your own hands are dirty with the same crimes!

And yet Home Minister P Chidambaram refuses to believe the Indian spies own admission but is trying to convey some secret confession from an Indian national caught in Saudi Arabia. So who's the one in denial?
If this Sayed Zabiuddin was in "control room" in Karachi, please tell us location of this control room. How hard can it be to look up an address in Karachi to check details? Why is India withholding this information?
What about Surjeet's statement about him being the Indian spy? State sponsored terrorism?
Suck it up and work for better relations. Both the countries are involved is such operations against each other.
Time will tell. Since KSA has deported him to India on a Pakistani passport, they know the facts. All the Muslim countries will listen to KSA except one, the perpetrator. This case will end at the United Nations.

We are too busy sticking up our nose to and sorting out the US. Get in line. Despite how economically, politically and security wise unstable Pakistan is, all that the US has managed to do is threaten us with nothing more than words even though we have ignored the US over the NATO supplies for upto 7 mths. Everyone knows about your consul posts in Afghan close to Pak border, so we will even ignore your requests unless you stop sending terrorists over from Afghanistan to attack our troops across the border.
