Sindh chief minister visits KCCI
Assures govt action on law and order; revival of economic activities.
KARACHI:
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Friday visited the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and exchanged views with KCCI President Mian Abrar Ahmad on the law and order situation and commercial and industrial activities in the city.
Earlier, the provincial Chief Minister paid a surprise visit to various markets located in the old city area and MA Jinnah Road. The KCCI President lauded the minister for his visit to the markets and stressed the need for executing concrete safety and security measures with visible results.
The Chief Minister stated that the Sindh Government was committed to improving the law and order situation to revive commercial and industrial activities; particularly in Karachi, and generally in Sindh.
Ahmad also apprised Shah about a KCCI delegation’s successful visit to the US under his lead. He stated that the KCCI delegation met important dignitaries of the US State Department and other organisations, where it categorically demanded that Pakistan does not require aid, but trade and market access.
He informed the Chief Minister that during the visit, the KCCI delegation also urged the US Agency for International Development to prepare a developmental and investment plan for the marble and granite sectors in Sindh.
