Golf: Iqbal, Matloob lead on opening day
Both competitors returned with a card of two-under-par 69 to finish on top after the first round.

Experienced golfers Shabbir Iqbal and Matloob Ahmed led in the Chief of Naval Staff Golf (CNS) Open Golf Championship that teed off yesterday at the Karachi Golf Club. Both competitors returned with a card of two-under-par 69 to finish on top after the first round. The duo was followed by Mohammad Tahir and Abid Rana who carded a gross 70. A total of 370 golfers including 120 pros are taking part in the championship which is offering Rs3.7 million prize money.
