KARACHI: Pakistan booked a place in the final of the U19 Asia Cup, thrashing Afghanistan by 151 runs in Kuala Lumpur.

Electing to bat first, Pakistan posted a competitive 296 for three with the in-form Sami Aslam and Umar Waheed contributing 77 runs each. In reply, Afghanistan never got going, losing wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 145 with over nine overs to spare.

Pakistan fast-bowler Azizullah was the pick of the bowlers with four for 44, while Ehsan Adil and Mohammad Nawaz, who had also chipped in with a useful 30-run knock, claimed two wickets apiece.  Mohibullah Paak scored a 77-ball 41 but the rest of the batsmen failed against disciplined Pakistan bowling.

Pakistan will play the winner of the other semi-final that takes place between India and Sri Lanka today.
