Book launch: Highlighting diversity in the Indus Valley

‘The Great Game and Indus Valley’ launched.

ISLAMABAD:

Showing the diversity of people in Indus Valley is what Khadim Hussain Soomro had in mind when he wrote “The Great Game and Indus Valley”.

The book was launched at a ceremony held by the Islamabad Cultural Forum here on Wednesday. At the launch, Soomro said, “My endeavour has been to present the concept of a glorious motherland in the book.”

Further elaborating on the theme of the book, Soomro noted, “We are slaves because we have forgotten our moral values and disowned the motherland.”

Earlier, writer and intellectual Ashfaq Saleem Mirza called the author a “keen researcher” and said most of Khadim’s books are confined to Sindh, but The “Great Game and Indus Valley” is different, discussing the role of the people of the Indus and the Indus valley at the international level.

“He put the facts in front of his readers and leaves them to judge for themselves,” Mirza added.

Soomro is a political activist, social reformer, political historian and writer. He has authored 12 books, of which eight are in English, three in Urdu and one in Sindhi.
