Urs celebrations: Security at Peera Shah Ghazi’s shrine beefed up

Thousands of devotees of the saint started trickling in at the mausoleum of the late spiritual leader.

The two-day celebrations of the urs of the spiritual leader Baba Peera Shah Ghazi also known as Damri Wali Sarkar will begin at Khari Sharif here on July 4. Special arrangements are afoot to observe the celebrations in a befitting manner under the aegis of the AJK government.


“Fool-proof security measures would be adopted to maintain complete peace and order during the urs celebrations,” said an official of a law-enforcement agency while talking to The Express Tribune on Tuesday. Thousands of devotees and admirers of the saint have started trickling in at the mausoleum of the late spiritual leader, from across the country including Azad Kashmir. Moreover, eminent ulema, naat khwans and other religious scholars will pay tribute to the saint for the services he rendered as a sufi and preacher of Islam in the subcontinent.
