Fresh Reminder: Arrest Musharraf, FIA requests Interpol
Musharraf has been living in London and Dubai under self-exile since 2008.
RAWALPINDI:
The immediate arrest of former president Pervez Musharraf was once again requested by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) through a reminder to Interpol on Monday. Senior public prosecutor for FIA, Chaudhry Zulfiqar said: “The FIA has written a letter to Interpol for the immediate arrest of Pervez Musharraf”. He added that one month ago Interpol had inquired about the expiry of the warrants and was informed that they stood valid till the former president’s arrest unless cancelled by the trial court itself. The Anti-Terrorist Court hearing former prime minister Benazir Bhutto’s murder trial issued arrest warrants of Musharraf, who has been living in London and Dubai under self-exile since 2008.
