KARACHI:
A group of medical students at Dow Medical College have created a facebook page called ‘The 10 Rupees Campaign.’ They invited hundreds of people to join this movement by donating at least Rs10 for the victims of the deadliest floods to hit the country.
The group will set up collection points at universities all over Karachi (schedule below) starting from August 17, 2010 onwards.
“Our country is in need and it our duty, to help out in whatever way we can. So we have taken it upon ourselves, to raise some money for these victims,” reads the description on the Facebook page.
“TEN RUPEES. that's all we ask”
A time table for collection of donations is given on the web page in order to facilitate the entire process.
The group will be visiting the following universities/colleges on the given dates to collect funds:
The group says that all the money raised will be given to the Edhi Foundation.
Till now more that 400 people have confirmed their attendance at one of the above mentioned venues.
