Brutal: 8 months pregnant woman ‘murdered’
Her family alleged that she was poisoned by her husband and in-laws.

An eight months pregnant woman died under unexplained circumstances on Sunday. Her family alleged that she was poisoned by her husband and in-laws. The 30-year-old Attiya Naureen, mother of a two-year-old boy, died at a Basic Health Unit. Her parents and in-laws are offering conflicting statements about the cause of her death. Her in-laws said she committed suicide, while her parents said she was poisoned. They said that she had informed them that her in-laws were demanding money from her and that the “marks on her body clearly show that she was tortured”. They alleged that the police were unwilling to register a case because of political pressure. The Kotli Sattiyan police said they will register a case after they get the medical report, which will come from Lahore.
